Budapest

Budapest...

Well, we both had ideas of what to expect, A beautiful city, historic stuff nice people, cheap parking........Oh No, not at all. The city is quite beutiful wih some nice architecture on both sides, Buda had some nice old buildings and the thermal baths, which were sooooo hot and very enjoyable. Pest had the modern shopping, the touristy areas and a park that was built for skating, with a shallow pool in the middle to dip your feet in after a hard skate or a long walk around the city. But as for nice people....they were the rudest we have met so far on our travels, not only did they stare, but they were impolite, didn't achknowledge us half the time and we even got shouted at on a couple of occasions. I dont think they liked English people. The only nice person we met was a Hari Krishna who thought we were German and Luke met a friendly skater called David who dissapeared when the park guards came to stop us skating. When it comes to the parking, the only places to park were on the street, where the car had to be moved every 3 hours or a car park which charged £120 if you stay longer than half a day! so we just left it there for the 4 days!

Overall Budapest was a bit of a dissapointment, so we are going back to Austria for a bit, to see what Vienna is like!
